Sponsor Us
Want to get involved and support us? Cosmos has a number of innovative new projects targeted to identified needs that offer exciting sponsorship opportunities. These include:
Cosmos Youth Program
Currently very limited services exist for young people 12 to 23 years. Our research indicates that there is a desperate need for out of school hours programs and activities that help young people build peer group friendships.
Outdoor Recreation Program
Outdoor recreation provides many positive experiences and it is a valuable tool for confidence and self esteem building. Sponsorship is sought for equipment and for program activities such as camps, rafting trips, absailing and canoeing.
Leisure Pathways
This is an exciting project that aims to link people with generic recreation and leisure groups in the community. Read more about this: Word doc or PDF.
Out of Hours Program
The “Out of Hours Program” offers weekend and evening outings where people can meet new friends and access night time and weekend entertainment. This program is very popular and there is a waiting list of people wanting to join the program. There is a clear need to expand this program to meet this demand.
Troupadoors
Troupadoors is a live performance group which focuses on circus skills, singing, movement and balance. The group performs on a regular basis at local festivals. Assistance is sought to help the group attend national festivals, to purchase new equipment and to take the show on the road for a tour of Tasmania.
Kingston Centre
Cosmos operates a sensory centre from a base at Kingston. The center offers individually tailored programs to assist participation in activities in an interactive way. We are currently developing a sensory room and assistance is sought to help purchase equipment for the centre.
Current Agreements
Metro and Cosmos Partnership Agreement
We currently have a partnership Agreement with Metro Tasmania, a public transport company. This agreement has operated successful for the past seven years. Under this agreement Cosmos provides disability awareness training for all new Metro drivers in return for an annual allocation of free bus tickets. This is an important project for Cosmos as close linkages with Metro assists our clients access public transport which reduces dependence on “disability” vehicles. Access to public transport also opens up many new options for an individual’s program.
