2011 Cosmos Art Show

The 2011 Cosmos Art Exhibition “...the way we see it...” was voted a huge success by visitors and participating artists alike. Set in the old WIN TV Studio behind Cosmos the exhibition featured over 300 pieces of artwork by 100 artists from across the organisation. The exhibition which included both visual arts and multimedia was opened by the Premier and Arts Minister The Honourable Lara Giddings. The opening included a performance of a new piece of work by the Centre Stage Drama group. Renowned Tasmanian Artist Kit Hillier also officiated on the opening night awarding several acquisition prizes.

A large number of works were sold throughout the exhibition.

Visitor’s first impression was one of walking into a modern art gallery, and comments received highlighted the quality of work and felt it could be exhibited in galleries anywhere in the world.

Congratulations to all involved.

Second Echo Ensemble

2010 Show: The Company I Keep

Following on from the success of the State wide tour the ensemble had a short break before throwing themselves into the development of the new
show 'The Company I Keep' . This piece took the skills and talents of the group to another level and was described by many as "their best work yet".

For the first time the ensemble and the new show were advertised in the Tasmanian Theatre Company's 2010 Subscription Brochure and this seemingly small addition had a very positive effect. Audience numbers for
the three performances were at a maximum and opening night was sold
out. Hobart's avid theatre goers were able to view for themselves this extraordinary ensemble. Reviews for the show were very positive and many people commented on the growth, maturity and development of the
ensemble members as artists.

We wish the ensemble all the best for the coming year and hope that it
proves to be an even bigger and better year than 2009 - 2010.
